The Great British Baking Show

Well, I've done it. I relented and watched The Great British Baking Show. Something had been holding me back - "Oh, it's all that fussy baking that I don't do," or "That stuff is way over my head." When several of my pen pals (yes, I have pen pals) said that they watch it, I finally had to scratch the curious itch and see what all the fuss was about. And it's glorious. It's got everything. The competition, the personalities, the baking. I love the absolute Britishness of it: the cheeky humor and snarky witticisms, the funny pastry names, Noel Fielding and Dame Prue. Do you watch?

Friends, I not only started watching, I also ordered the dang recipe book. My Amazon guy delivered that great joy today. So until further notice, I will be baking Sussex Pond Pudding and Earl Grey Tea Scones.
